Although well known in modern times, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso production was stopped for around 30 years between 1940s to 1970s. The watch initially designed as a tool watch for polo players to protect their timepiece during matches but was soon discontinued due to the lack of public interests.

This Jaeger-LeCoultre Staybrite Steel "Corvo" Reverso launched in the 1970s as a part of a 200 pieces limited edition by Italian retailer Giorgo Corvo, is believed to be the model that re-launched the now-famous Reverso collection.

The watch is in fantastic condition, where the case is in exceptional condition with minimal polishing. The watch reversing mechanism is still smooth and sharp with no issues when turning over the dial. The dial itself is in exceptional condition as well, where there are slight patina on the edges of the dial, more notably on the right side of dial but all the markings and details on the dial is still intact and in great condition with the original hands. Watch is in normal running order.

Our Thoughts:

We have a feeling that this pieces could be one of the most important watches in the history of the Reverso collection. Perhaps not discussed enough, the watch actually uses old cases from the 1930s and 1940s in Acier Staybrite stainless steel which was a technological breakthrough in materials. The watch produced in extremely limited quantity where there are believed to be only 100 pieces with the grey dial, is in a classic 23mm x 38mm size to give you that touch and feel of a vintage classic watch.

For those who are used to modern robustness and quality might find this piece a little different to the pieces you’re used to in terms of touch and feel, but the story and significance of this particular “Corvo” Reverso is something that will stand out in any conversations, making it extremely understated but collectible.
