The 222 Historiques by Vacheron Constantin is a tribute to the original designs of their sports collection. As the predecessor to the now popular Overseas model, the 222 was introduced in the 1970s as Vacheron's first long standing luxury sports model. Once considered the holy trinity of luxury watchmaking, Vacheron Constantin were eager to create a direct competitor to the likes of the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet and the Nautilus by Patek Philippe.

Our Thoughts:

With the Historique collection, Vacheron Constantin have consistently brought back some of the all time favourites from their collection through the years, and with the Historique 222 we have here, they have done it again with a brilliant retro model.
This throwback of the original Vacheron Constantin 222 is something special. The brand have interestingly chose to lauch this in only a full 18K gold version, which honestly for us, we absolutely adore. The functionality of a “sports watch” have diminished through the years particularly within the luxury sports model sector, and this ultra thin 222 design in yellow gold with a full brushed finish is quite frankly a masterpiece.

Initial thought might be that the watch carries too many similarities with its original design, but with the watch being a tribute model, theres really no reason to add unnecessary extra details to a already beautifully balanced design. The extremely snug and slim case coupled with the full 18k gold bracelet gives you the vintage look but with the modern sturdiness. Undeniable attractive, it is hard to get bored of looking at this gorgeous luxury sports watch.
